This is a photo of my previous little hole in the wall. My letterpress studio was one of 20 creative studios that made up Seattle’s oldest artist collective, Salty Dog Studios, once home to the Superior Biscuit Company (c. 1936). My time machine was where I enjoyed experimenting with analog technology. Here, I hand-mixed my own Pantone inks and turned abstract ideas into something tangible. My oldest cast iron presses date back to the late 1800’s.
I will soon be waking my sleeping giants for some tactile goodness. Stay tuned!
